You worked, slaved and spent out money to create some high-value video content and now you’ve finally created something that will really put our company in a good light. So…. now what?!
One of the big challenges for marketers is not just creating the content but getting people to see it. With millions of videos on YouTube, you have to do whatever you can to make sure your video is seen. With all the content out there, it can be stiff competition and you need to do everything you can to increase exposure. Here are 5 ways you can make sure traffic is sent to your video.
1. Create Relevant content
Clients and customers are looking for certain things from your industry. A fashion blog might make sense for Macy’s, but not for Pepsi. There are creative ways to share information relevant to your constituents. If you want to see some great examples of this, follow this link.
2. Make Engaging Titles
The title is how people will find your video, and one of the only indicators to what is in it. Biggest mistake is leaving your video with the automatically generated title. (Examples like ‘Rough cut’ or ‘dvi_345′ can be the worst.) A Google search will also cut you off after about 60 characters, so keep it short and to the point.
3. Use Relevant Tags
Don’t try to tag every word in the video. Think about what people are searching for when they’d actually want to see your video. If your video is about health and fitness, think of keywords like ‘diet’ ‘exercise’ and ‘easy’. (Hint: Some hot words on YouTube include ‘Tutorial’ ‘Free’ and ‘Awesome’.)
4. Leverage Social Media
Share your videos over all your Social Media platforms. Get the word out by asking your friends and contacts to share your content over their networks. Be sure to have a good thumbnail that will show up on Facebook and LinkedIn feeds.
5. Create and Engaging Channel
There are more than just videos to your channel. Photos, playlists, and channel trailers all add a look of professionalism that will drive people to your video. Take some time to dot your i’s and cross your t’s on your homepage so you can avoid looking like an amateur.
