We were lucky to catch up with Rami Kalla recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rami, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I make it a habit to take the first 1 – 2 hours, every weekday morning to be creative. Whether it is researching what other companies in our space are doing, or exploring some new ideas for our studio. I also keep my creative juices flowing by watching the latest series or film. Lastly, I surround myself with other creatives, and I am always reaching out to see the latest thing that they are working on!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I founded Point in Time Studios in 2002. We started as a small video company focusing on low-budget corporate videos and filming at corporate events. We have organically grown over the years. Today, my team produces virtual reality training programs for first responders and safety officers. We create stunning LED Screen Designs for multi-story LED billboards. We have many large clients who trust us year after year to continue to innovate and create content that helps create ROI for their brands.
Lately, we have been producing many augmented reality experiences. From small holograms to large posters, and even a marketing activation in the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport – our team continues to push the boundaries on media.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I start my day getting my mind in the right state. I practice meditation, yoga, and write down all my goals. I like to plan my day early and time block to get all of my tasks completed.
I spend a lot of time in my EO group meetings to learn from other entrepreneurs, and offer advice to other businesses.
I also take the time to hire the right people for the right positions. Having a key group of leaders who are highly qualified, and add value to our team has been key.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Because of the wide range of services my team provides, we are looking to partner with creative advertising agencies to produce quality content. Our team specializes in the production work – whereas creative agencies provide the creative. As a partner, you can trust our team to maintain flexibility, provide the pre-production and on-set work, and will deliver a stunning final video for your clients.
